Oct 02 – Social Conflicts

This lecture addresses the roots of social conflicts from the Spiritist perspective by looking at the history of humanity as well as our personal history. It highlights what Spiritism teaches and offers to overcome personal and social conflicts.

Daniel will discuss the Spiritist view of fear and the impact it has in our day to day lives. Is fear good? Is fear bad? Join us!
Oct 16 – Resilience and Mind-Body Health: Modern Psychology and Jesus Teachings

In revisiting Jesus’ methodology, psychotherapists are finding some parallel between the modern psychoanalysis and Jesus’ healing approach as well as his teachings on resilience, coping, self-transformation, and eliciting questions such as: Jesus’ “miracles” or psychosomatic healings? Is “love your neighbors as yourself” a way of acceptance and reach emotional balance? Is Jesus famous Sermon of the Mount still applicable today in handling the increasing cases of psychobiological disorders?

Luiz Lima was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1990, Luiz moved to the United States, where he began his journey in Spiritism. Due to his vast knowledge in science he became one of the most requested facilitators of Spiritism in both languages: Portuguese and English. Mr. Lima is a renowned lecturer in the Spiritist movement and participates in local and national seminars and events all year around. Mr. Lima holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and works in the computer network industry.
