May 04 – The Teachings of Jesus
@ 5 pm – Luiz Lima (Guest speaker)
A fresh look at how the teachings of Jesus, according to the Gospels, have entered our lives. It also discusses how Spiritism portrays Jesus’ authority and its significance for living a better life in the present.
Luiz Lima has begun his journey in Spiritism since 1990. As a serious researcher on the scientific aspect of Spiritism, Luiz has been facilitating the studies of how to bridge science and Spiritism in both languages: Portuguese and English. Mr. Lima is a renowned lecturer in the Spiritist movement and participates in local and national seminars and events all year around. Luiz Lima holds a degree in Electronic Engineering, and he works in the computer network industry.
May 11 – Who is My Mother, Who Are My Brothers?

Some teachings of Jesus have been interpreted in different and incompatible ways since time immemorial. Based on the Gospel according to Spiritism, we’ll contextualize this passage of the Gospel of Mark 3:33-35 and Matthew 12:46-50 that may sound controversial at a first glance. Join us to learn more!
Wendell Almeida was born and raised in Brazil and has been studying Spiritism for over 20 years. Professionally he holds a Law Degree from a Brazilian University. Currently he works remotely as a civil servant at the Court of Justice of Sergipe, in Brazil. He has been living in the US for the last 2 years, is married (no children) and has been attending the SSB meetings and study group sessions since the beginning of the year.
May 18 – Parable of the House Built on the Rock

Leo will continue a series of talks exploring Christ’s teachings and how to apply them in our lives. In this presentation he will reflect on the “Parable of the House built on the Rock” found in the Gospel of Matthew 7:24-27 of the New Testament.
